Individual must be able to operate JD210, long reach, and greater excavators, operate a dozer with a high level of skill. Understanding of working in wet environments a plus. CWS has an opening for an experienced Project Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Carolina Wetland Services, Inc. (CWS) has an opening for an Environmental Scientist Project Manager to join our science-based, natural resources consulting firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must include a letter of interest and resume.
Responsibilities include managing environmental projects and mentoring junior staff. Typical duties include conducting Waters of the US delineations, preparing permit applications, conducting surveys for Federally and state-listed special concern species, and preparing plans for wetland and stream mitigation. The Project Manager will be responsible for handling client relations for their projects, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring project success.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in biology, environmental science, earth science, botany, soil science, wildlife biology, ecology or a related field. At least 2 to 5 years of independent, professional field biology and project management is required for this position. A Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated professional field experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience working in the residential development sector, municipal government, energy sector, or related industry. Wetland Delineation certification or documented training experience is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy, experience working alone and as a team leader, and ability to multitask work assignments are important. Candidate should be proficient with using office software and should enjoy working outdoors in variable weather conditions. The majority of work is within the regional area, but occasional travel may occur. Experience with ArcGIS, using handheld Trimble GPS, or renewable energy sites is a plus.
